Riva Bella beach in Ouistreham

La plage Centrale in Cabourg
One of the most famous on the Côte Fleurie, it stretches out opposite the casino and the Grand Hôtel, two sublime Belle Époque buildings. Bordered by the Marcel-Proust promenade, it is nicknamed the “beach of the romantics” for the beauty of its setting. In summer, deckchairs and beach cabins are available for hire.
The Ammonites beach at Benerville-sur-Mer
A neighbor of Deauville, it is less popular than Plage des Six-Fusillés. Supervised in season, the landscape becomes wilder as you move away towards Blonville-sur-Mer.
The Six-Fusillés beach in Deauville
A legendary beach in Calvados, it stretches over 2 kilometers and offers an impressive width of sand. Its wide-open spaces make it an ideal spot for sand yachting. Colourfully decorated with bathing cabins and parasols, it also boasts a kids’ club and a sailing school.
Houlgate beach
Opposite Cabourg, the beach at Houlgate offers two atmospheres: a lively one near the town center and casino, and a quieter one on the temple side. Bordered by the magnificent Promenade Roland-Garros, it is home to a water sports center and children’s club.
Vasouy beach in Honfleur
Close to the Seine estuary, Vasouy beach offers a breathtaking view of the port of Le Havre; lined with trees, it is appreciated for its wild setting. It stretches for several hundred meters before leading to the Butin beach with its bathing cabins.
Villers-sur-Mer beach
South of Deauville, it’s famous for being the continental gateway to the Greenwich meridian. The wall of his walkway is marked with a blue line to mark the passage of the meridian. It is also appreciated for its miles of sand, its beach huts and its many tourist attractions.
The beach at Colleville-sur-Mer
Better known as Omaha Beach, it was the scene of a bloody battle during the Allied landings. More than 9,000 American soldiers fell here, and are buried today in the cemetery that runs alongside it: the Colleville-sur-Mer American Cemetery, a peaceful place of remembrance. The beach, too, is relaxing and tranquil.
The beach at Saint-Côme-de-Fresné
Neighboring the popular Arromanches-les-Bains beach, Saint-Côme beach is less popular. It was the scene of the British landings and later housed part of the Mulberry B. artificial harbour, the remains of which are still visible. Most of the Allied tanks landed on this beach on June 6, 1944.
The beach at Trouville-sur-Mer
One of the most beautiful beaches in Calvados, Trouville’s elegant villas make for a sublime setting. Built in the 19th century, they bear witness to the resort’s appeal to Second Empire aristocrats. The Savignac promenade runs alongside it for almost 1 kilometer.
